NEMA standard 3-conductor plugs and receptacles

All NEMA 5 plug and recepticles are three-wire grounding devices (hot-neutral-ground) 

NEMA 5-15

The neutral blade on 5-15P plugs is not always wider than the line blade, since the ground pin enforces polarity. The 5-15R is the common 125 V two-pole, three-wire receptacle rated for 15 A. NEMA 5-15P right-angle
Same as standard 5-15P but plug face is rotated 90° from wire.

NEMA 5-20

The 5-20P plug has the neutral blade rotated 90° and shifted so its inner edge is approximately 1⁄2 in (12.7 mm) from the hot blade. The 5-20R has a maximum rating of 20A. NEMA 5-20P right-angle
Same as standard 5-20Pbut plug face is rotated 90° from wire.

NEMA 5-30 and 5-50

The 5-30 and 5-50 are physically larger, with 1 in (25.4 mm) between power pins; 5-30 also has an L-shaped neutral blade. Typically used for items like electric clothes dryers. These larger sizes are uncommon, as twist-locking plugs are generally used for high-current applications.
